Ciudad Juárez implements social services and water infrastructure projects

Authorities in Ciudad Juárez are implementing various social and infrastructure programs to support local residents. The Secretaría de Desarrollo Humano y Bien Común reported providing over 2,700 services this month and is preparing to open nine new community kitchens to increase daily food rations from 250 to up to 1,000. Additionally, the agency is planning new aid deliveries for seniors, people with disabilities, and vulnerable families.

In terms of infrastructure, the Junta de Agua y Saneamiento de Juárez (JMAS) has launched a 44.6 million peso project in the Los Kilómetros sector, which includes building a 5,000 cubic meter storage tank and installing new conduction lines. JMAS is also working on replacing the Nadadores collector on Norzagaray Boulevard to improve sanitation for approximately 100,000 residents.

Social services are also being expanded through the Municipal DIF, which has increased its rehabilitation unit coverage from 32 to 563 users. Furthermore, the municipal government is bringing direct services to the Parajes del Sur and La Enramada neighborhoods through the ‘Atención a las Causas’ program, offering legal advice, medical services, and public safety information. Health officials are also preparing for the 2026-2027 influenza vaccination campaign by training municipal medical staff.
