Mexico authorities investigate multiple homicides and criminal financing

Authorities in Mexico are conducting multiple investigations into violent crimes and potential links between organized crime and political entities. In Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, a shooting outside a funeral home resulted in the deaths of two men, identified as Samuel and Carlos, who were intercepted by gunmen in a sedan while traveling in a pickup truck.

In Michoacán, the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) is collaborating with the State Attorney General's Office to investigate the murder of Carlos Manzo Rodríguez. The probe is examining whether organized crime provided financing to the Movimiento del Sombrero and if there are economic links to the municipal government of Uruapan.

Additionally, in Navojoa, Sonora, a 76-year-old man named Mónico “N” has been detained and placed in preventive prison for the alleged feminicide of his partner, María Guadalupe “N”, who was killed with a knife in the El Jopo locality.
