Ciudad Real cancels Conciertos Solidarios program until 2027

The Diputación de Ciudad Real has announced that the ‘Conciertos Solidarios’ musical cycle will not take place in 2026, with plans to potentially reschedule the events for spring 2027. The suspension follows a legal challenge filed by a participating company regarding a contract for lighting, sound, and audiovisual production, valued at approximately 108,953 euros.

The program, which was originally scheduled for June and July, was postponed indefinitely after the Administrative Tribunal of Contractual Appeals intervened. Provincial spokesperson Rocío Zarco stated that the decision to move the concerts to 2027 is due to the ongoing legal proceedings and the fact that autumn and winter weather conditions are unsuitable for such outdoor events.

Socialist deputy Begoña Martín criticized the management of the PP and Vox coalition, alleging that the program has been neglected. She noted that while the initiative previously featured around 17 concerts per edition, the planned programming for 2026 had been reduced to only six before the eventual cancellation.
