Ciudad Real court issues suspended sentence for sexual assault of minor

A young man from Bolaños de Calatrava, identified by the initials J. J. P. S., has admitted to sexually assaulting his nine-year-old nephew in Ciudad Real. Following a plea agreement between the prosecution and the defense, the Provincial Court of Ciudad Real handed down a two-year prison sentence.

The sentence consists of one year and three months for sexual assault and nine months for exhibitionism. Although the prosecution initially sought five years and six months, the final agreement reduced the term. Because the sentence does not exceed two years and the defendant has no prior criminal record, the execution of the prison sentence has been suspended, meaning he will not serve time in jail.

The incidents occurred in 2024 while the defendant was living in the family home with his mother, two sisters, and his nephew. The defendant admitted to showing his genitals to the child on three occasions, performing sexual touching, and asking the child to touch him over his clothing.
