Ciudad Real hosts Saborea España to promote gastronomic tourism
Ciudad Real is positioning itself as a key hub for gastronomic and enogastronomic tourism in Spain. The city is hosting the IV Saborea España Gastronomic Destinations Conference, an event that brings together professionals, administrations, and companies to analyze trends and share experiences in the sector.
During the proceedings, local leaders, including Mayor Francisco Cañizares and the President of the Diputación, Miguel Ángel Valverde, emphasized the importance of using gastronomy and local identity to drive economic growth, particularly in rural areas. The event aims to showcase the province's agricultural and cultural heritage as a primary tourist attraction.
Additionally, the region is integrating technology into its heritage management. The Volcanes de Calatrava Geopark has presented its use of immersive technologies, such as 3D glasses and virtual reality, to transform traditional museum visits into interactive experiences, aiming to attract more visitors to the province's geological and historical sites.
