Ciudad Real’s Concurso de Limoná Sets Record with 192 Groups, Bhela Wins

The XLVII Concurso de Limoná, part of the Pandorga festivities in Ciudad Real, Spain, attracted a record 192 musical groups, breaking previous participation levels. The competition took place at the Recinto Ferial and concluded with the group Bhela being announced as the overall winner.

Mayor‑level officials praised the event’s community spirit. Concejal de Festejos Mar Sánchez said, “Este concurso demuestra la esencia de lo que es la Pandorga, familias y amigos que se reúnen para celebrar esta fiesta tan especial para los ciudadrealeños.” Federation president Frasi López highlighted logistical improvements, noting the addition of 12 extra booths and a larger jury of 45 peña representatives.

Each participating group received a complimentary kit containing wine, sugar, lemons, ice, and plastic cups. Winners were awarded gifts such as hand‑painted Talavera plates and decorative amphorae. The event’s success underscores its role in sustaining local cultural traditions.
