Spanish municipalities invest in new outdoor and indoor fitness facilities
Several Spanish municipalities are upgrading sports infrastructure through various investments. In Ciudad Real, a new outdoor gym has been inaugurated in Antonio Gascón Park. Funded by a 152,000 euro investment from the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, the facility features eight training stations, including two adapted for people with reduced mobility. The project also includes a water circuit designed as a climate refuge to protect users from high summer temperatures.
In Cáceres, the Parque del Príncipe has undergone a 20,000 euro renovation of its outdoor exercise area. The new equipment, managed by the company Talher, includes rowing machines, cross-country skiing simulators, stationary bicycles, and various strength and coordination tools to encourage physical activity in the green space.
Additionally, the municipal gym in Soto del Real has been upgraded with over 17,000 euros worth of new equipment. The renovation includes weight machines for hip, thigh, and arm exercises, as well as adjustable benches and dumbbells to expand training options for local users.
