Ciudad Real opens Virgen del Prado fair with tribute to Santiago Barrero

The Virgen del Prado fair in Ciudad Real commenced with a novillada con caballos dedicated to the memory of breeder Santiago Barrero. A minute of silence was observed, and a commemorative plaque was presented to his widow, Vanesa Gordillo.

The event featured bulls from Toros de San Román, who wore black colors in mourning. The performance of the bullfighters was mixed. Debutant Javier Fernández earned an ear for his performance with the second bull and received an ovation for his work with the fifth. Another debutant, Aparicio Romero, received an ovation for his performance with the third bull but was silenced during the sixth.

Adrián Reinosa also participated in the festivities but faced silence during his performances.
