Ciudad Rodrigo hosts medieval fair and religious commemorations

Ciudad Rodrigo is hosting a series of cultural and religious events. The IX Medieval Fair, known as ‘La Conjura de Ciudad Rodrigo’, features a three-day program including parades, tournaments, theater, and a medieval market. The event recreates historical rivalries between the Garcilopez and Pacheco lineages.

Simultaneously, the Diocese of Ciudad Rodrigo is launching its 2026/2027 pastoral course. The religious agenda includes theological conferences, a mass at the Cathedral presided over by Monsignor José Luis Retana, and the procession of the Virgin of the Rosary. The weekend also commemorates the 800th anniversary of the jubilee of Saint Francis of Assisi, featuring historical rites and guided visits to the Convent of San Francisco.
