Ciudad Rodrigo prepares for Medieval Fair and highlights historic fortifications

Ciudad Rodrigo is preparing for its upcoming Medieval Fair, scheduled from October 2 to 4. The Asociación Rodericus has begun decorating the city with banners and posters to create a medieval atmosphere for visitors. The event will feature markets, music, theater, fire shows, and demonstrations involving birds of prey and archery.

In addition to the festivities, the city's historical fortifications are undergoing renewed attention. Following emergency works reported by the Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de España, the city's defensive architecture—which includes 12th-century walls and later Vauban-style bastions and moats—is being highlighted as a key cultural itinerary for visitors.
