Ciudad Victoria launches free LaloBus for students

The municipal government of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, has launched the ‘LaloBus’, a free transportation service specifically for students. Mayor Eduardo Gattás Báez reported that the service began operations this Monday, with the first unit carrying approximately 50 to 55 students per trip. The bus is equipped with air conditioning and is scheduled to make multiple trips throughout the morning and afternoon.

To expand coverage, the city is analyzing the acquisition of a second unit with a different route, which could be implemented later this year.

In addition to the new transport service, authorities highlighted a reduction in school-related thefts. During the recent vacation period, only five robberies were reported at educational facilities, compared to more than 20 during the same period last year. This decrease was attributed to coordinated security operations between municipal police and educational authorities through the Municipal Security Table.
