Cd. Victoria receives 19 historic benches from Tamaulipas

The Tamaulipas Secretary of Public Works has transferred 19 century-old benches from the Plaza del 22 Hidalgo, also known as Plaza de los Héroes, to the municipal government of Cd. Victoria. The transfer was coordinated by Pedro Cepeda Anaya and received by Alberto Rojas, the municipal coordinator of Public Services.

Documents indicate that the contractor for the work, Hawargu Infraestructura, S. A. DE C. V., is scheduled to execute the project between December 19, 2025, and March 18, 2026, with a contract value of approximately $8.75 million pesos. The benches are linked to the Independence Column monument, which was inaugurated in September 1910.

Separately, local political commentary noted potential conflicts of interest regarding Rómulo Pérez Sánchez, the president of the MORENA State Council, who is participating in internal party surveys for the municipal presidency of Cd. Victoria while serving as the head of the Subsecretaría de Enlace Legislativo.
