Ciudad Victoria to acquire new patrol cars and tow trucks using traffic fine revenues

The Ayuntamiento of Ciudad Victoria announced plans to purchase five to six new patrol cars and tow trucks to modernize its municipal traffic department. Secretary Hugo Reséndez Silva said technical project proposals have been prepared for submission to the capital‑fund committee, and the acquisitions will be financed directly from municipal traffic fines, taxes and other local revenues.

He noted that last year the city added two patrol vehicles and six motorcycles, and this year the budget also prioritized pothole‑repair machinery, civil‑protection units, garbage trucks and street‑lighting upgrades. Staff will continue operating on a staggered vacation schedule from July 19 to August 3 to maintain services.
