Ciudad Victoria: Two injured in violent car crash

Two men were left in critical condition after a violent car crash in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, on the night of Sunday, September 6. The occupants of a Chevrolet Cavalier were trapped inside the vehicle after colliding head-on with a C4 surveillance pole on the Naciones Unidas bypass.

Preliminary investigations by transit experts suggest the accident was caused by excessive speed and alcohol consumption. The victims were reportedly returning from a birthday celebration in the Ávila Camacho ejido when the driver lost control near the entrance to the Marte R. Gómez residential area.

Emergency responders from State Civil Protection, the Medical Urgency Regulatory Center, and firefighters used hydraulic equipment to cut through the wreckage and extricate the unconscious men. Both individuals were transported to the General Hospital in delicate condition. The State Guard secured the scene while rescue volunteers assisted with traffic control.
