Civate inaugurates new ‘Porta dei Laghi’ facility

The municipality of Civate has officially inaugurated the ‘Porta dei Laghi’ in the Isella locality. The new two-story building was constructed following the redevelopment of the former ‘Mexico’ campsite, a site that had remained inactive for nearly thirty years.

The facility is designed to host local associations and a bar-cafeteria. The surrounding area has also been revitalized to include a children's playground and a wellness and fitness path integrated into the greenery. This project is part of a broader strategic vision for the Lake Annone area, which includes improving pedestrian-cyclist paths between Civate and Oggiono and protecting water quality.

Sustainability features were a key component of the project. The company Acinque installed a 32 kW photovoltaic system consisting of 64 solar panels on the roof to cover much of the building's energy needs. Additionally, a smart multi-service charging station for electric bicycles was installed, featuring four charging points for e-bikes and four USB ports for mobile devices to support eco-friendly mobility.
