Civic Coalition members clash over Roman Giertych's legal role

Internal tensions have emerged within the Civic Coalition (Koalicja Obywatelska) following criticisms made by MP Sławomir Nitras regarding Roman Giertych. The dispute centers on Giertych’s role as a legal representative for Przemysław Kral, the president of the failed cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto, a position he has held since May.

Nitras expressed discomfort with the situation, stating that Giertych appears to be “confusing roles” between his duties as a lawyer and his responsibilities as a Member of Parliament. Nitras suggested that Giertych should withdraw from the case to ensure justice is not compromised by perceived conflicts of interest.

In response, MP Magdalena Filiks defended Giertych and launched a sharp critique of Nitras on social media. Filiks advised Nitras against commenting on parliamentary standards, stating, “As a woman and a Member of Parliament, I know him exclusively from what is not proper — neither as a deputy nor as a human being.” She also dismissed suggestions that the legal representation implies financial ties between Kral and the Civic Coalition.
