Civico Hospital in Palermo faces scrutiny over tender with names of probable winners
The Arnas Civico Hospital in Palermo is facing scrutiny after publishing a tender that allegedly included the names of probable winners. The Nursind nursing union reported that the document, published on August 7, contained evaluation grids with specific names already indicated.
While the hospital quickly withdrew the tender, screenshots of the publication have circulated among unions. The procedure in question was not for hiring new doctors, but for the economic advancement of existing staff members.
The incident has gained political significance following claims by Matteo Hallissey, president of +Europa and the Italian Radicals, that Luca Lagalla—the son of Palermo Mayor Roberto Lagalla—was among the names listed. Nursind has formally requested that the hospital’s Transparency and Corruption Prevention Office investigate the matter to determine responsibility.
