Cividale del Friuli reopens historic Scubla 1921 grocery store

The historic Scubla 1921 – Dispensa Friulana has reopened in the historic center of Cividale del Friuli at Corso Giuseppe Mazzini 33. The shop, which originally began as Torrefazione Moschioni in 1880 and became Drogheria Scubla in 1921, aims to restore the tradition of local neighborhood grocery stores.

Under the leadership of Enrico Coser, owner of the Ronco dei Tassi winery, the project combines historical identity with a contemporary selection of goods. The shop offers Friulian specialties, coffee, tea, spices, and niche international products. The original layout of the premises remains intact, including the main shop, the rear area, and the underground cellar, which has previously been featured during FAI Days.

To manage the product selection and customer relations, the shop employs Federica Comentale, a sommelier with extensive experience in high-end dining at establishments such as Hiša Franko, Alchemist, and La Subida.
