Civil Police in Codó deny rumors of child kidnappings

The 4th Regional Civil Police Station in Codó has issued a clarification note to calm the population following rumors circulating on social media regarding the alleged kidnapping of children in the municipality and surrounding region.

Authorities stated that no formal occurrences confirming these rumors have been recorded. The police institution emphasized that they are monitoring the situation and will take all necessary legal and investigative measures should any real incidents occur.

The police also issued a warning against the spread of fake news intended to cause public panic for social media engagement or self-promotion. Officials noted that the use of anonymous or false profiles does not guarantee impunity, as those responsible can be identified through investigations and held criminally liable.
