Civil protection groups in Italy mark organizational milestones

Local civil protection units in Italy have reached significant organizational milestones. In Campagna, the municipal Civil Protection Group has renewed its leadership following the natural expiration of mandates. Gelsomino Iuorio has been reconfirmed as Operational Coordinator, while Romolo Trotta remains on the Steering Committee alongside new member Gelsomina Formisano. The group aims to focus on training, operational capacity, and increasing volunteer involvement, particularly among youth.

In the Lombardy region, the Torre d’Oglio Civil Protection association celebrated its 25th anniversary with the inauguration of a new Multipurpose Emergency Center in Campitello di Marcaria. Developed in collaboration with the Lombardy Region since 2021, the new headquarters serves as a logistical and operational hub. Regional Councilor Alessandra Cappellari emphasized the importance of prepared volunteer systems in responding to recent severe meteorological events in the Mantua area.
