Civil Protection warns of fraudulent inspection calls to schools

The State Civil Protection Coordination (CEPC) has issued an alert regarding fraudulent phone calls from individuals impersonating agency personnel. These scammers are targeting educational institutions, claiming that inspections will be conducted in December and requesting meetings to avoid potential fines or sanctions.

Reports indicate the calls originate from numbers with the 425 area code. The CEPC clarified that these communications are not official procedures and emphasized that the agency does not authorize personnel to make such calls, request meetings under these conditions, or use intermediaries for official procedures.

Authorities have urged school directors and the general public to remain vigilant, verify all information, and avoid providing personal or administrative data or making payments to unverified callers. Official procedures must be conducted directly at the agency's offices in Villa de Pozos.
