Civil service volunteers support schools and libraries in Italy

Various Universal Civil Service projects in Italy are concluding or implementing community-focused initiatives. In Caselle Torinese, the “Intrecci educativi – Insieme per imparare” project has integrated young volunteers into local kindergartens, specifically at the Caldano and Salga sites. These volunteers assist teachers with daily activities, workshops, and educational outings, with a specific focus on inclusion and linguistic expression to foster participation among children.

In Terlizzi, volunteers have completed a year-long service term at the “Luigi Marinelli Giovene” municipal library. Their work involved managing book loans, cataloging, and conducting educational workshops and reading sessions in schools. The volunteers concluded their term by sharing a letter expressing gratitude for the experience of engaging with the public and supporting local literacy efforts.
