Civil society groups finalize electoral reform proposals

Civil society organizations, academia, and the private sector have concluded a collaborative process to develop a series of electoral reform proposals. The initiative, organized by a multi-sectoral table, has focused on nine thematic blocks to address current issues within the electoral system.

The resulting document is scheduled to be presented this September to the Electoral Affairs Commission of the National Congress, the National Electoral Council, and other relevant stakeholders. The process involved conducting a diagnostic of the current institutional and regulatory framework to serve as a technical basis for the proposed changes.
