Le Ghiottonerie del Moro expands menu with new gelateria in Civita Castellana

Le Ghiottonerie del Moro, a family‑run restaurant in Civita Castellana, Lazio, was founded in 2002 by brothers Leonardo and Riccardo Morelli. The kitchen staff includes the brothers, their mother Aurora, and a long‑time assistant, Anna. After moving to a new location on 28 February 2020, the restaurant was forced to close most of its dining area on 15 March due to the COVID‑19 lockdown, keeping only the kitchen and take‑away service operational.

In recent months the Morelli family opened the gelateria Clementino in the town’s central square, converting the former Bar Conti space. The gelateria offers ten lactose‑free flavours, with plans to add six more, and features a signature “Civitonico” flavour inspired by a local carnival ravioli filling. The expansion aims to increase foot traffic in the historic centre and diversify the family’s food offerings.
