Civitanova reports beach fight and storm damage to port facilities
Police responded to a violent dispute on Civitanova's public beach where two men, described as Maghreb, came to blows. One fled the scene while the other, about 30, sustained a minor hand cut and declined hospital transport. Three police patrols collected witness statements and identified the victim.
Later, strong winds of about 20 knots and heavy rain battered Civitanova's port area. Several dry‑docked sailing vessels were twisted or broke their support rigs, and a mast snapped. Panels from the roof and the entrance gate of the former Anconetani shipyard collapsed, though no injuries were reported. Authorities are assessing the structural safety of the abandoned site.
