Civitanova residents appeal to Prefect over parking disputes

Residents of via Mentana in Civitanova have appealed to the Prefect of Macerata regarding ongoing parking disputes and perceived unequal treatment by local authorities.

The residents report that while signage on both sides of the street includes an ‘except residents’ clause, the municipality has failed to issue the necessary resident permits, unlike in neighboring streets. This has led to a situation where citizens face fines for parking in areas where they believe they should have rights.

Furthermore, residents have alleged a disparity in enforcement, claiming that local police have issued sanctions to vehicles parked on the right side of the street while leaving vehicles on the left side unsanctioned. The matter has been brought to the attention of the Prefect, the regional ombudsman, and the regional rights guarantor.
