Civitavecchia court rulings uphold municipal control of transport and waste procurement

The Lazio Regional Administrative Court rejected a private company's bid for the cruise‑passenger shuttle service in Civitavecchia, confirming that the extra‑port link falls under the competence of the municipality rather than the Port Authority. AdSP president Raffaele Latrofa said the decision validates the need to redesign the tender, focusing solely on the on‑board shuttle service.

In a separate ruling, the same court affirmed the legality of Civitavecchia Servizi Pubblici’s procurement of automated waste‑sorting stations, rejecting a competitor’s claim that aluminum structures did not meet the technical specifications. CSP president Francesca Romana Tomaselli welcomed the verdict, emphasizing the transparency and rigor of the process and allowing the project to proceed as scheduled.
