Civitavecchia firefighters rescue dog from narrow well

Firefighters in Civitavecchia, Italy, conducted a specialized rescue operation to save a large dog that fell into a deep, narrow well. The incident occurred at approximately 03:15 in via Santa Lucia.

The well was approximately 5 meters deep and only 50 centimeters wide. Due to the tight space, rescue teams utilized Speleo Alpino Fluviale (SAF) techniques. One firefighter had to be lowered head-first into the cavity to reach the exhausted animal. The dog was successfully harnessed and brought to the surface in good condition to be reunited with its owner.
