CJ CheilJedang Beaumont plant drives Bibigo's U.S. market leadership

CJ CheilJedang’s Beaumont plant in California has become a major production hub for K-food in the United States. Following the acquisition of Schwan's in 2019, the facility has expanded its capacity to meet rising demand for Bibigo products, including mandu (dumplings), fried rice, noodles, and seaweed snacks.

The Beaumont facility, which is the largest Asian food production site among CJ CheilJedang’s 20 North American plants, produces approximately 860,000 dumplings per day. The plant operates with roughly 70% automation, utilizing technology such as Doosan Robotics to handle heavy packaging tasks. The facility maintains USDA certification, adhering to high hygiene and safety standards.

By integrating Schwan's extensive logistics and distribution networks, CJ CheilJedang has successfully expanded its reach to major retailers like Walmart, Kroger, and Costco, with products now available in approximately 80,000 locations across the U.S. As of 2024, Bibigo holds a 41% share of the U.S. B2C dumpling market, surpassing long-time competitors. To support continued growth, the company plans to complete a new Asian food plant in South Dakota by 2027.
