CJ Logistics and KOBC launch US logistics center in Illinois
The Korea Ocean Business Corporation (KOBC) and CJ Logistics have commenced operations at a large-scale logistics center in Elwood, Illinois, near Chicago. The facility was developed through a joint investment between the two entities, utilizing land previously held by CJ Logistics.
Spanning approximately 295,389 square meters, the center features 130 loading docks and a 12-meter ceiling height to optimize cargo processing. Its strategic location near the CenterPoint Intermodal Center allows for efficient distribution via rail and road networks, enabling delivery to most of the United States within two days. The facility has also earned the LEED Silver certification for environmental sustainability.
KOBC intends to support CJ Logistics in designating the site as a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) to help Korean companies reduce customs duties and improve operational efficiency within the North American supply chain.
