CJ Olive Young introduces AI‑based hiring tasks for senior developers

CJ Olive Young announced that its senior‑level developer recruitment will replace the traditional live‑coding test with an AI‑focused assignment. The new AI task evaluates candidates on problem definition, AI tool usage, prompt engineering, iterative improvement, and result verification. Positions targeted include commerce platform engineer, core platform engineer and AI recommendation‑system engineer, each requiring at least two years of relevant experience.

The assessment will be conducted using the Cofa‑Probe evaluation platform developed by Krafton. In addition, the company will co‑host an AI hackathon with Krafton on June 30, offering a total prize pool of 10 million won. Winners of the hackathon and top performers in the AI assignment will receive an advantage in the hiring process, potentially bypassing the document screening stage.

CJ Olive Young said the shift reflects a move toward “AI‑native” talent capable of solving retail‑tech challenges together with artificial‑intelligence tools, aiming to drive continued innovation in its business.
