CJ Vietnam Open 2026 boosts Vietnamese taekwondo athletes toward LA 2028 Olympics

The CJ Vietnam Open 2026 taekwondo tournament will be held on 28–29 July at the Rạch Miễu Sports Hall in Ho Chi Minh City. The G1‑level event, sanctioned by World Taekwondo, will feature 167 competitors from 15 countries and uses electronic scoring and international referees.

As a World Taekwondo‑recognized competition, the Open offers Vietnamese athletes the chance to earn world‑ranking points needed for qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. organisers note that the 2026 edition expands on the inaugural 2025 tournament, which attracted 112 athletes from 13 nations, and reflects fifteen years of CJ Group’s support for Vietnam’s national taekwondo program, which recently secured nine medals at the Asian Championships and a spot at ASIAD 2026.
