CJP presses Indian government for written accord, warns of renewed protests

Leaders of the Cockerroach Janata Party (CJP) met with senior farmer union figure Rakesh Tikait in Delhi to discuss a joint front of farmers, students and youth against the Modi government. National spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said, "We expect our farmer brothers, students and youth across the country to encircle the Modi government from all sides." The meeting followed the end of a 36‑day student protest at Jantar Mantar, which the party claims was concluded on 25 July based on a verbal agreement with the centre.

CJP now accuses the government of failing to provide a written record of that agreement and of not uniformly withdrawing legal cases linked to the protests in states such as Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Assam. The party says the Supreme Court has allowed continuation of investigations into police actions, and warns that if promised relief is not delivered it may restart nationwide agitation.

CJP leaders, including Saurav Das, reiterated that the promised withdrawal of cases and assurance against future retaliation were key parts of the July 25 settlement, and that the absence of a written document could trigger a new wave of protest.
