CJP rejects Supreme Court ruling and plans new protests in India

The Cocrok Janata Party (CJP) has publicly rejected a recent Supreme Court order that individuals with prior criminal records should not be automatically released. Party spokesperson Saurabh Das said, “Supreme Court ka faisla humein manzoor nahi hai,” and demanded the unconditional release of all protesters arrested during recent demonstrations.

CJP also criticised the government's newly passed paper‑leak legislation, calling it insufficient and urging that the suggestions the party had submitted on exam security be implemented. While the Lok Sabha passed the bill, the party claims it will not curb paper leaks. The dispute has sparked nationwide debate, with police‑protester clashes reported in Delhi and other locations, and the party signalling preparation for further nationwide actions.

The controversy highlights heightened tensions between the CJP, the judiciary, and the central government over law‑enforcement and education policies.
