CK Enerji reports surge in Istanbul urban transformation

CK Enerji Boğaziçi Elektrik has released the first half of its 2026 'Energy of Real Estate' report, detailing significant urban transformation trends in Istanbul's European Side. The report indicates that requests to terminate electricity subscriptions due to urban transformation rose by 112% in the first six months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, increasing from 18,110 to 38,420.

Since 2021, the total number of subscription terminations driven by urban transformation in the European Side has reached 210,651. The data shows that Bahçelievler saw the highest volume of requests, while Esenler experienced a surge of over 300% compared to the previous year.

Ali Erman Aytac, General Manager of CK Enerji Boğaziçi Elektrik, stated that the company's technological infrastructure allows for real-time tracking of subscriber movements. He noted that the report serves as a reliable reference for local governments, investors, and the real estate sector to understand population density, housing mobility, and changing lifestyles within the city.
