CL Foundation Ghana hosts free prostate cancer screening in Accra
More than 160 men participated in a free prostate cancer screening event in Accra to mark Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Organized by Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt through the CL Foundation Ghana, the initiative aims to promote awareness, education, and early detection of prostate-related conditions.
Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur Okyeame Kwame participated in the public screening, noting that he had previously avoided such exams due to misconceptions regarding the procedure. He emphasized that medical professionals can assess prostate health through various methods, including blood tests, urine samples, and scans, and urged other men to overcome fear to prioritize early detection.
Lutterodt stated that the screening program is intended to be an annual activity held every September. The event featured a team of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, to provide medical advice and screenings at no cost to attendees.
