Cl0p hacker group claims data theft from 50 companies

The Cl0p hacker group has claimed responsibility for stealing large volumes of data from nearly 50 companies globally, including major corporations such as Philips, Shell, Fiserv, and General Electric.

Philips confirmed it was targeted by Cl0p and successfully contained an attempted breach of a corporate server involving internal data, noting that customer environments were not affected. Shell stated it is investigating a ‘possible incident’ with security experts. Fiserv reported that its analysis has found no evidence of compromised customer data, banking information, or system impacts. General Electric has not yet commented on the allegations.

Security researchers from Ransom-ISAC previously warned that Cl0p has been exploiting vulnerabilities in PTC Windchill and FlexPLM software, which are used for engineering project management and manufacturing processes. While the full extent of the data theft remains unverified, the group is known for targeting multiple organizations simultaneously by exploiting software flaws.
