CL3AR campaign concludes tour in Rome to raise kidney disease awareness

The CL3AR itinerant campaign, ‘CL3AR: obiettivi chiari per la salute dei tuoi reni’, has concluded its tour in Rome. The initiative, organized by Sobi Italia with the support of the patient association Progetto Ddd Ets and scientific societies including Fir, Sinepe, and Sip, aimed to raise awareness about kidney health and rare renal diseases.

Promoters noted that rare diseases in Europe are defined as those affecting fewer than 5 in 10,000 people. Rare kidney diseases, which include conditions such as C3 glomerulopathy (C3G) and primary immune-complex membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (Ic-Mpgn), often present with silent or confusing symptoms. This frequently leads to late diagnoses after irreversible damage has occurred. The campaign emphasized that early diagnosis is essential for timely management and reducing the risk of progression to renal failure.

The tour began in May and included stops in Milan, Bari, Turin, Bologna, and Palermo before finishing in Rome, involving clinicians from various nephrology centers.
