CLAAS introduces new ARION 5 CMATIC tractor series

CLAAS has introduced the new ARION 5 CMATIC tractor series, replacing the previous ARION 500 line. The new range consists of three four-cylinder models—the ARION 5. 140 CMATIC, 5. 160 CMATIC, and 5. 180 CMATIC—offering power outputs ranging from 145 to 180 hp.

All three models are powered by a 4.5-liter engine, with the top model delivering up to 730 Nm of torque. A key feature is the CMATIC continuously variable transmission, which includes ‘Auto Load Anticipation’ technology to automatically adjust engine speed and transmission based on workload changes during tasks like soil preparation.

The series emphasizes digitalization and operator comfort, featuring a new cabin concept, digital connectivity via CLAAS connect, and advanced assistance functions such as CEMOS DIALOG. Designed for versatility, these compact tractors are intended for grassland management, harvesting, soil cultivation, sowing, and transport work. The series will be publicly showcased at the Innov-Agri event in France in September 2026.
