CLAPP to close Jeppener plant and lay off all workers
The automotive parts manufacturer CLAPP has confirmed the permanent closure of its plant in Jeppener, located in the Brandsen district. The company, which has operated for over 50 years, will terminate its entire remaining workforce.
According to Daniel Cardoso, a delegate for the Unión Obrera Metalúrgica (UOM), the layoffs are expected to be finalized starting November 30. While negotiations and hearings with the Buenos Aires Ministry of Labor are still pending, the company has formally communicated the decision to the workers. The closure affects more than 30 families in the locality.
CLAPP served as the exclusive supplier for the Stellantis Group in El Palomar. The company was noted for being the only Argentine firm capable of machining and assembling engine heads for original equipment.
