Clara Brugada addresses Mexico City audits and water plan
Mexico City Head of Government Clara Brugada Molina has addressed several key administrative and infrastructure matters. She called for transparency regarding federalized resources as the Auditoría Superior de la Federación (ASF) begins audits of the capital's boroughs to ensure public funds are used for community benefits and to prevent corruption.
Regarding local infrastructure, Brugada committed to respecting the results of a community consultation in San Gregorio Atlapulco concerning a water management plan in Xochimilco. The project, which involves an investment of approximately 400 million pesos, received 390 votes in favor and 32 against. Brugada stated that while the administration will respect the majority decision, it remains open to dialogue with dissenting residents and ruled out the use of police force to complete the works.
Additionally, Brugada highlighted progress in her administration's social policies, security, and public space transformation, noting a decrease in high-impact crime rates and the expansion of social welfare programs.
