Clara Lucía Sandoval appointed as Bogotá government liaison

Clara Lucía Sandoval has been appointed as the new national government liaison for Bogotá, serving as a link between the national administration and Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán. A former city councilwoman with ties to the Misión Carismática Internacional, Sandoval's political background combines experience in city administration with a conservative social agenda. Her new role will involve coordinating projects that require both national and district resources, focusing on areas such as mobility, security, infrastructure, and animal protection.

Following her appointment, Fabián Puentes of the MIRA Party has called on Sandoval to prioritize the completion of the Suba Multicampus University project. Puentes noted that despite a budget of 215 billion pesos, the project lacks a contractor and remains an unfulfilled campaign promise. He emphasized that the new management must deliver tangible results for the 15,000 to 17,000 potential students in the Suba area rather than relying on temporary solutions like shipping containers.
