Claret Capital Partners closes €575m European growth debt fund

Claret Capital Partners has finalized its fourth European growth debt fund, the Claret European Growth Capital Fund IV, at €575 million. This final close exceeded the firm’s initial target of €500 million.

The fund has already begun deploying capital, with 32 percent invested across 27 companies in the technology, life sciences, and impact sectors. Notable investments include Billie, a B2B BNPL platform; Cinclus Pharma; Proda; Inventiva; and Surfe.

Managing partner David Bateman noted that the fund's close coincides with high demand in the European venture and growth financing market, particularly in sectors such as artificial intelligence, deep tech, and dual-use technology. The use of growth debt allows companies to access capital while reducing equity dilution for early investors. Since its inception, Claret has raised a total of €1.3 billion and deployed €1.5 billion across 210 companies.
