CLARITY Act: U.S. leaders push for crypto regulatory framework

U.S. political leaders are pushing for the passage of the CLARITY Act, a legislative framework intended to establish clearer regulatory structures for the cryptocurrency industry. Donald Trump recently hosted approximately two dozen crypto executives and federal authorities at the White House to advocate for a ‘fair’ version of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.

Vice President JD Vance has expressed optimism regarding the legislation, noting that the administration is working to move away from a ‘regulatory Wild West’ toward a formal legal logic. The act aims to divide regulatory competencies between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

A procedural vote in the Senate is scheduled for September 15, though the legislation faces resistance from various political factions regarding ethics and consumer protection. The industry views the act as a vital step toward providing market participants with the legal certainty required for long-term planning.
