Dominican Republic initiatives boost youth training and technical education

In the Dominican Republic, several initiatives are targeting youth development and vocational training. Claro Dominicana has concluded its ‘Ser Claro’ internship program, which provided practical experience to 82 young people from various regions, including Santo Domingo, Santiago, and Dajabón. The participants, ranging from high school students to university students, were integrated into 14 different organizational areas and received training in topics such as cybersecurity and customer experience.

Simultaneously, the Dominican Ministry of Tourism, led by Minister David Collado, has delivered technological and audiovisual equipment to three technical training centers in Ciudad Colonial. This initiative, part of the Integral Program for the Tourism and Urban Development of Ciudad Colonial (PIDTUCC) and supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), aims to strengthen the technical and operational capacities of the ADAF Hospitality and Tourism Training Center, the Ministry of Labor's Santo Domingo Workshop School, and the Cardenal López Rodríguez Technological Center. The equipment delivery is valued at five million pesos and is part of a broader 90-million-dollar IDB program focused on urban and tourism development in the historic district.
