Claro modernizes IT systems following tax reform and brand integration
Claro has utilized Brazil's tax reform as a strategic window to modernize and integrate its IT systems following the consolidation of Claro, Net, and Embratel operations. During the SAP NOW AI Tour Brazil, CIO Cesar Augusto announced the implementation of SAP S/4HANA this year to move toward becoming an autonomous company.
The integration involved merging over 60 systems and reviewing more than 350 processes. This overhaul has yielded significant operational efficiencies, such as reducing accounting closing times from two days to just two hours. Additionally, the company's data volume has grown from 2 terabytes to 8 terabytes in operation.
Claro is currently adopting Artificial Intelligence, emphasizing that robust data serves as the necessary foundation for successful AI implementation. According to Augusto, the Brazilian operations have become a reference point for the América Móvil group.
