Six Killed in West Bank Village of Tell Shooting as Israeli Forces Launch Raids
On 25 July 2026 a gunfight erupted in the West Bank village of Tell near Nablus. A Palestinian shooter disarmed an Israeli soldier and opened fire, killing two Israeli soldiers and wounding several others. Israeli security forces and settler groups responded with a series of raids across Tell and nearby towns, killing four Palestinians, torching homes, and converting some houses into interrogation sites.
Over 70 Palestinians were detained in the aftermath, including more than 40 in Tell itself, while operations spread to Jenin, Tubas, Tulkarm, Ramallah, Hebron, Bethlehem and Jericho. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered a "wide‑scale military operation." UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese condemned the collective‑punishment campaign as "pogroms against defenseless civilians" and called for an immediate arms embargo and trade sanctions against Israel.
