Classi5ed Studio develops pseudo-3D RPG using RPG Maker MZ

Classi5ed Studio is developing a new RPG titled ‘Lie of Caelum: Spirit’ for PC via Steam. The game, which serves as a sequel to the 2022 release ‘Lie of Caelum’, is notable for utilizing ‘RPG Maker MZ’ to achieve a pseudo-3D and 2.5D visual style.

Lead developer Stark explained that the choice of engine was driven by its efficiency in RPG creation and the ability to develop custom plugins, despite the technical challenges of pushing the software beyond its standard capabilities. The game features turn-based combat with an input combo system, robot-based exploration, and various mini-games.

A Kickstarter campaign for the project is scheduled to begin on August 31. As of August 18, the project had already garnered significant interest, with over 500 followers registered for launch notifications. The developers have also expressed intentions to include Japanese language support through crowdfunding efforts.
