Classic car industry and collectors highlight vintage automotive heritage
The classic automotive sector is showcasing the intricate processes required to maintain historical vehicles. At recent industry events in Bologna, the focus extended beyond finished restorations to the essential supply chain, including specialized spare parts, workshop documentation, and technical registries that preserve a vehicle's original configuration and genealogy.
In a notable individual achievement, French collector Bernard Sorlin sold a rare Porsche 928 GTS directly to Porsche France. The pearl-white vehicle with walnut interior finishes was subsequently featured at the Rétromobile show in Paris, positioned alongside a unique four-door 928 created for Ferry Porsche's 70th birthday. Sorlin, a collector based near Lyon, is set to participate in the upcoming Epoqu’Auto event at Eurexpo.
