Classic cars from 1956 to be exhibited in southern Brazil
Three classic automobile models—a Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, a Mercury Montclair, and a Pontiac Star Chief—will be featured at the Classic Car Show in Balneário Camboriú, Brazil. Manufactured in 1956, these vehicles are approaching their 70th anniversary in 2026 and represent the luxury design trends of the 1950s.
The year 1956 serves as a significant milestone for the Brazilian automotive industry. During that period, the government established the Executive Group for the Automotive Industry (GEIA) to reduce dependence on imported components, and the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) was founded. While Brazil produced approximately 30,500 vehicles annually in 1956, production reached 2.64 million units in 2025.
